Two Victims Identified in the Ivy League School Shooting as Police Continue Hunt for Gunman.

Two students who died in Saturday’s violent attack on the university campus were being remembered Monday – as a manhunt for their killer carried on following the freeing by authorities in Rhode Island of the sole person detained in connection in the case.

Tributes for Ella Cook

The student Ella Cook, a second-year student from Alabama, was called “an incredible, grounded, faithful, bright light”, per the Advent Cathedral in Birmingham, which paid tribute to her at a gathering on Sunday.

Her role included the vice-presidency of Brown’s chapter of College Republicans of America, as the club stated. The White House press secretary also shared sympathies online, stating: “There are no words. Keeping in mind her kin and peers, especially her parents.”

The Second Victim

The other deceased individual was MukhammadAziz Umurzokov from Uzbekistan, from Uzbekistan in his first year of studies at the prestigious university, his family confirmed.

Umurzokov’s identity was officially acknowledged by Uzbekistan’s foreign ministry.

“He possessed remarkable kindness, humor, and intelligence. His ambitions were lofty of pursuing a career in neurosurgery and assisting patients,” his sibling Samira said in a memorial statement.

The Shooting Incident

Nine more persons were wounded in Saturday’s attack in the engineering building of Brown’s university in Providence, during the school’s final exam period.

Law enforcement reported on Sunday evening that a 24-year-old male taken into custody in a raid at a Hampton Inn about 17 miles from the university earlier in the day was being released.

“We have a murderer out there,” said the state's top prosecutor, Peter Neronha.

He continued, “Sometimes you head in one direction, and then you need to change course and head another way, and this is precisely what occurred over the last approximately one day.”

Public Fear

Brett Smiley, Brett Smiley, admitted: “It is expected to provoke new worry for our community”.

The gunman discharged a weapon inside a lecture hall in the engineering facility on over the weekend, discharging in excess of 40 shots from a handgun, a police source informed the media outlet.

Law enforcement that raided the inn recovered a pair of pistols and two loaded 30-round magazines when the person of interest was taken into custody, the news agency reported.

The Wounded Victims

Among those wounded, one pupil was allowed to go home, stated Christina Paxson, Christina Paxson. Seven others were in grave but unchanging health, and one was in critical condition, officials reported on Sunday.

A group leader, Martin Bertao, posted a statement from the organization. “Ella was recognized for her courageous, valiant, and compassionate nature as she served her chapter and fellow classmates,” he said.

An American diplomat, Jonathan Henick, said he was “extremely sorrowful” by Umurzokov’s death in a statement. “Our profound condolences go out to Mr Umurzokov’s family, companions, and fellow students and lament the passing of his promising future.”
