The striker joined the Gunners from Sporting Lisbon during the offseason

Gunners striker Viktor Gyokeres fails to make the cut in Graham Potter's first Swedish national team selection, whereas Liverpool forward Alexander Isak received inclusion

The Arsenal forward is scheduled for more assessments in the coming days following fears he sustained a muscle problem during Arsenal's English top flight victory at the Clarets on Saturday

The 27-year-old missed the Gunners' European win versus the Czech side earlier this week

Alexander Isak Returns

Isak, who hasn't featured from late October due to a groin injury, has been chosen to play in the World Cup fixtures against the Swiss team (15 November) plus Slovenia (18 November)

Other Premier League Selections

  • Spurs midfielder Lucas Bergvall, working his way back from concussion
  • Newcastle winger Anthony Elanga

Both athletes feature in Potter's England-based contingent selected by ex- Brighton, Chelsea and West Ham coach the new Swedish coach

Potter's Appointment

Potter was appointed the Swedish federation initially temporarily in late October, under a month after he was dismissed by West Ham

Former boss the Danish coach was fired following the national team's defeat to the Kosovan team on 13 October, a result that ended automatic qualification in their World Cup group impossible

Current Situation

The Swedish team are currently last place of their qualifying group having only one point from their opening four games

Even if they don't manage to secure second place, they could still participate in the qualification playoffs as a result of their results in the most recent UEFA competition
