Liverpool's Star Offers Apology to Teammates, Discloses Curtis Jones
Jones has revealed that Mohamed Salah said sorry to the team after the fallout from his televised remarks.
What Happened
Salah was left out from a key Champions League match subsequent to making accusations and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had soured.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I'm sorry.’”
The manager has previously declined to comment publicly on whether he was apologised to from the 33-year-old forward.
Looking Ahead
The player stated that the squad's reaction was unchanged. “He was his usual self, he had a big smile on his face and everybody was exactly the same with him,” Jones added.
Jones also suggested that a competitor wanting to play is less of an issue. “I get that there are specific approaches you can express yourself,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just be on the bench, then I think that’s concerning.”
Positive Results
Liverpool's form have remained strong in the matches since the initial controversy. The player is convinced the outburst were not intended to cause disruption.
“In moments of frustration, it has consistently come from a place of caring,” he finished. “That chapter is closed and we’re building chemistry, performing and securing victories.”
