Forest vs Malmö and memories of 1979. The both teams have a unique relationship, also competing in Forest's previous European adventure in the UEFA Cup of 1995-96, but it is the European Cup final from 1979 that links these clubs, with Britain's first £1m player Trevor Francis netting the decisive goal of a rather dull championship game to secure historic victory for the Forest supporters.

It's also interesting to consider Malmö, who became the first, and to date the last Swedish club to make the championship match under manager Houghton.
This match is a distant from that summit, closer perhaps to the earlier European encounter between Forest and Malmö in the mid-nineties. Forest are absolutely buzzing after defeating Liverpool convincingly at Anfield on Saturday, while Malmö haven't kicked a competitive ball since last month following the completion of Allsvenskan. The general expectation is on the home team tonight.
